Running the Toronto 5K gives you bragging rights. You can say you’re supporting Canada’s world-class children’s hospital. Or you can make it more personal, and say you’re making a difference in the lives of the sickest kids and their families. Either way, you’re right.
A place of healing and hope, SickKids is Canada’s first paediatric hospital. As home to both the largest, most comprehensive pediatric medical and surgical training program in Canada, and the country’s largest, hospital-based child health research institute, SickKids treats the most complex cases – the sickest of the sick – and conducts research that addresses the most pressing challenges in children’s health, like cystic fibrosis, pediatric cancers, and cardiac critical care. Your donations make a difference today: more than 100,000 kids received lifesaving care at SickKids in 2021. And your support is shaping the future of child health in Canada, and around the world: in 2014, 2,168 grant-funded research projects and 2,904 clinical protocols were underway.
So the start line for the Toronto 5K isn’t just where a run begins: it’s where the future of healthier children starts, too.
